I'm still new at this, I hope I didn't just cause trouble - RonO's Ramblings

Jul. 2nd, 2004 08:54 am I'm still new at this, I hope I didn't just cause trouble

I just finished starting to set up my "friends," by trying to find my friends, acquaintances, and others that also have LiveJorunals set up. I'm just hoping that I didn't end up accidentally forcing them to read my stuff.

If I did, first let me apologize. Second, can someone help me fix this?

Hi Ron, welcome to the world of Live Journal! ("One of us! One of us!")

No, you didn't force anyone else to read your journal -- as I'm sure you've found by now, your friends list is what controls the journals that you want to see when you select "Journal / Friends" from the menu at the top of the page. (This may vary a bit depending on how you have your page setup, but there should be a menu of some sort where you can select this option.)

The only 'fix' for anything I'd suggest at this point would be Live Journal Cuts -- http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75 for more information. In short, it allows you to hide parts of a journal entry until your readers specifically click on the link to read that entry. (This is used most often to keep long posts from being displayed in the 'friends' view and for warnings about content that might not be 'work place safe,' for instance.)

Hmmm. I wonder if I should set up a DucKon LJ community?
