One really good thing about San Diego

This morning, November 16, I was able to go to church, comfortably, wearing shorts and sandals. I've worn shorts and sandals to church before, but only in July or August, but not in November.

OK, today it was warmer than average around here, but not by all that much.

Just to make me enjoy it more, Derrick informed me that "Grandma said it was snowing" in Rockford.

On the other hand, I would have very much enjoyed being at Windycon this weekend. It sounds like most of the people who went had fun. Had we not moved, I might have missed a fair amount of yesterday for the National Karate tournament -- at the very least, Derrick and I would have probably been competing about 1:00, and I might have been judging or helping out before hand -- but it still would have been nice to be there.

Perhaps in a year or three vacation and budgets will allow for us to make either Windycon or Capricon (or both), but for this year I'm afraid that it will probably be just DucKon for us.
