For what it is worth, I ended up signing onto Facebook today and have been poking around. I've found quite a few people, and I'm sure that there are more lurking.
I also have been signed up with Twitter as "ronboakes" for some time, and made a couple of posts over the weekend.
I'll probably keep my main information here -- but I've made an effort to get my feed here, onto Facebook, so people only there may have a chance of seeing it.
